Eleven-year-old Jonathan Yacso lost his mother, Beth Yacso, to Myelogenous Leukemia on May 7, 2004. The Gulf Beaches baseball team had a fundraiser Sunday, June 27, where all proceeds and donations went to Jonathan. The community raised $3,500 in four hours.

Jonathan helped in the fundraiser by throwing the first pitch and calling the winning raffle and 50/50 tickets. The Gulf Beaches are hoping to sponsor an event in the memory of Beth Yacso every year.

Prizes included a signed Tim McGraw picture, haircuts, pedicures, restaurant gift certificates, Starsky and Hutch Playstation 2 video games, $5 McDonalds gift certificates and other gifts. Kay McKenzie helped organize the event with the sponsorship of Quota, a contract cleaning service. McKenzie ran the silent auction and arranged the gifts for raffle by Ben Corry and Yacso.

Corey is Jonathan’s best friend and Little League teammate. Ben is one of the seven boys that spoke at Beth Yacso's funeral. Beth's immediate family members, Patricia Yacso (mother) and Lisa Yacso (sister), have taken guardian of Jonathan.
