Photos: Driftwood Celebrates Independence Day

Jackson Bechtol, 8, his sister Maggie, 5, and their mother, Stephanie, wait for Driftwood's Indepedence Day Parade to begin. Stephanie's parents, Jopie and Sandy Helsen, have lived in Driftwood for 14 years. Stephanie and her children live in Tallahassee.

The Driftwood parade halts near the center of the neighborhood at a small park Driftwood Road branches around a few large oak trees. There, Ara McCorkle(right), 8, and her grandmother, Imogene, join other Driftwood residents in the Pledge of Allegiance.
