Betsy Lee (Maggiore)

Elizabeth Lee graduated from Lawrence Free State High School. She attended the University of Kansas for one year, then decided to transfer for many reasons, and Northwest Missouri State University just seemed like a good fit. She lived in Omaha for about five years before moving to Lawrence, Kansas. Her family in Lawrence includes her parents, Mary and Steve, two brothers, one sister and two dogs. Elizabeth’s family in Maryville consists of two obnoxious roommates, a cross-country team, her fiancé and a recently adopted basset hound mix named Daisy Mae. It was in Lawrence that she began her running career. Elizabeth has been involved in track and field since the age of eight. Running is a passion and a huge part of why she is a sane individual. At Northwest Missouri State University, she continued her running career and got heavily involved with student publications. After three years, she had learned a lot about what it takes to be a reporter, but was certain that she had a great deal more to learn. Elizabeth recently graduated from Northwest and is currently considering all that life has to offer, including work and graduate school.
