Laura Fries grew up in Phoenix, Ariz. The beauty of the antebellum neighborhoods surrounding Trinity University drew her to San Antonio, Tex., where she earned her degree in history and sociology. Laura graduated magna cum laude in May of 2003. Her interests include consumerism, politics and cultural history. She currently combines these passions as staff writer and food editor for the San Antonio Current, where her favorite beats are reproductive rights, food industrialization and Internet technologies. In the future, she hopes to write the history of the Consumer Age from her notes. She chronicles her Internet obsessions at LauraFries.com. |
